Searching Tips

Broaden or narrow your search terms

  • Use AND to narrow your search (librarian AND career)
  • Use OR to broaden your search (librarian OR career)

 Basic search vs. advanced search

  • Advanced search allows you to limit your results by date, publication, language, full text, etc.

Use quotation marks around an exact phrase

  • If you want to search for a multi-word phrase, use quotation marks around the words to get results that use the words in exactly that order. For example, search “medical laboratory technician” instead of medical AND laboratory AND technician.
